So many people have said I look like Gail who plays Lelo on 'The Wild' (MNet). I can't actually see that but a lot of people do! And I think she's very pretty, so I'll take that as a huge compliment! Right?! I'm not really her biggest fan but don't hate her either. If I ever bump into her, I'll take a picture of us. Then perhaps I can see what people are talking about! In the meantime, I'll keep on being ME! Hahahahahahahahaha!

There really is no place like home!

Ok, I'm a city girl through and through. I love the big city lights and I can't help myself. But coming home to the Eastern Cape for a few days is awesome. I live on a game farm so the peace and tranquility is good for the mind, body and soul. I leave tomorrow though, because of work. But that's the life we choose when we're chasing better opportunities. On that note, tomorrow might change my future. But that will be revealed very soon.

LiquidChefs rocks!!!

Yes, I'm still living in Soweto and I must say, I've been learning a lot that I never knew. Still wanna go bungee jumping very soon but you'll definitely know, when that happens. I still have my private fashion clients but I've been working at LiquidChefs as a hostess. I'm loving that job more and more everyday!

I'm a peoples' person and I've eased into this position very well. What I do basically, is make sure that clients are happy and taken care of. You'll see me there on Friday, Saturday and some Sunday nights from 8pm. Shai is the coolest boss I've ever had! That's a true story!!! From now on, I'll also be blogging on events coming up. But be warned, there's always something happening!!!

Sox in Soweto!!!

You've probably been asking yourself where the hell I'm at. It's been a hectic few days like you won't believe. I've moved back to Johannesburg but this time I'm staying in Soweto. Drove myself up from PE! Yeah, I'm gangster like that and I can change a tyre. Learned that the very hard way but glad I did. I've never actually lived here and looking forward to this new experience. My plan is to move to the northern suburbs, purely because it's closer to work/business. But for now, I'm gonna enjoy every moment, of learning what Soweto is all about. I'll obviously share what kind of fashion I come across, good or bad.

Bernina Aurora 430 embroidery machine for sale.

This machine is a combination of an embroidery and normal sewing machine. As you can see it comes with this awesome and strong carrier bag. There's a compartment for everything and I mean everything. To change from domestic to embroidery, you just attach/detach sewing plate or embroidery plate (pictures below). Oh! And the embroidery plate also comes with it's own carrier bag. You will also get the computer software that enables you to make your own designs. Everything shows on your computer screen and the machine does all the embroidery for you. It will tell you how many colours you'll need and give intervals, to change your thread. It's really an awesome machine to have for an embroidery lover. I'm just not using it that much anymore.

Styled to Rock - Rihanna's new fashion reality show

Rihanna steps out as executive producer, for her new fashion reality show called 'Styled to Rock'. It launches on Sky Living HD, 14th August at 9pm (Sorry SA!).

This show will have aspiring fashion designers, facing challenges each week. Hosted by Nicola Roberts, Cheryl Cole will make her television return, as a guest judge. Katy Perry, Pixie Lott and Scissor Sisters have been confirmed as once off mentors. Each of them will be featured on an episode. Each designer will battle to make a jaw dropping design. A mentor will choose a winner from that challenge and wear that design, to a public event. But unfortunately another designer will go home. (Yeah, we know how it works)

Rihanna will make regular appearances alongside host (Nicola Roberts) and co-host Henry Holland. The ultimate winner will have their design worn by Riri at her live concert in 2012. Apparently it's going to be her biggest one in London thus far.

Can't wait until this show airs in South Africa!

Michael Kors winter/fall shoes for 2012/2013

I don't know about you but these shoes do look comfortable. There's so much you can wear with them. The ones with the thick socks would go amazing with a tight fitted pencil skirt or three quarter pants. That depends on what type of style you have. I think the ones with the gold plated heel are more sophisticated. You can make that heel pop, but wearing gold accessories. Nice one Mr. Kors!

Rihanna designs for River Island

I've always said I don't have a favourite designer but I have style icons. Chanel meets Valentino meets Rihanna.

RIHANNA is designing a collection for River Island. The British high-street label confirmed today, following rumours in March of this year, that the Vogue cover girl will create a capsule offering, set to hit stores in spring 2013.


"I've been wanting to design my own collection for some time," Rihanna said today. "River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family-run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I'm looking forward to working with them and creating something really special."


"We are thrilled to be collaborating with Rihanna and to be the first fashion brand to work with her in this way,"River Island chief executive Ben Lewis added. "Rihanna is a style icon, from street to chic she enjoys her fashion. As soon as we started to work together we knew this was a perfect fit. When a loved one passes, nothing else matters

I don't know where to begin! My maternal Aunt passed away due to cancer. We bury her this week-end and I think I'm still in denial. I haven't accepted the fact that I'm never gonna see her again. She was like a second Mom to me. Like really!!!

We lay her body to rest, today!

Rest in peace Nomvuyo Ngoma. Madlomo!

Must haves in a MAN's wardrobe.

Start small and build according to your lifestyle. You need to ask yourself a few things first. What type of clothes do I need everyday? Is it jeans and chinos or is it suits. And therefore buy accordingly. Though research and observation, here are a few must haves for your wardrobe.

A grey or navy suit.
You might need this for those rare occasions, that just seem to come up. These colours can blend in with other items, such as wearing your blazer with chinos or jeans. It's an investment for sure!

Ties
Ties come in different colours but try some stripe (diagonal). For things like evening events, interviews or weddings.

Crisp white shirt for day and night events
Please don't wear for a casual look. Coz they make you look sharp! And they look good on a lot of you guys. Very versatile as well.

Jeans and chinos
Jeans are a serious must have in your wardrobe. That applies to chinos too.

Black shoes and belt
They work perfectly as a combination. Great with your jeans or chinos and that suit of yours.

Jacket
You have various lengths to choose from. It completes an outfit, works great with everything. Including your jeans and we all need a jacket or two right now! Brrrrrrrrrr!

Deconstructed suit
This is basically something that works well together. But you can also wear the blazer and pants separately.
Casual shirt
To wear with casual pants, of course! Like, golfers or polo necks, if that's your thing.

Sporty wear
Whether sporty or not, you these clothes for those lazy Sunday mornings. Or for just kicking it with the boys.

Just coz it's winter, that doesn't mean we have to dress like slobs!

Ok, I've been seeing what the majority of people are wearing lately. I must say, it's not looking good. There are so many stylish ways, for a winter look. You could try layering items (ones that fit you) together. But make sure they are all visible. Meaning your first layer will be much longer than your jacket. Ladies, try wearing thick stockings underneath, skinny jeans and your favourite boot. You can also do that with any pair of jeans actually. And then there's a scarf people. Too many options there, so please use them. <-- is called Tough Love!

So let's enjoy this winter in style.

You should maintain your weight, when having a custom made garment/outfit

A lot of people don't realize it but it's important to maintain your weight. Especially when you're having a custom made design, for you. To some, this would make perfect sense. Yet, there are those clients who will blame the designer, if something is too small, in their second fitting. As a designer, you never wanna make your client uncomfortable. Particularly when it comes to women and their weight.

Obviously this applies to any tailor made garment. From a wedding dress to a formal winter jacket. So, the next time you want an original made for you. Keep that in mind and meet your designer half way. And I promise you, you'll be happier than you initially anticipated.

I had the honour of styling & dressing Tema Sebopedi (Lerato from Isidingo)

Over the week-end I had the opportunity to style the ever so humble, Tema Sebopedi. And might I just add, that she is nothing compared to her roll on Isidingo on SABC3. She's kind, sweet and a lot of fun! So I got to spend the whole day with her, before and after her Z- Card shoot. As you may or may not know, this kind of shoot is like a portfolio for people in the entertainment industry. It's to show off the different looks/characters that a person can portray.

 The day started off at Soul Scissors in 7th Avenue, Parktown North in Johannesburg. She had her hair done by professional stylists. You could tell that she's been going there for 7 years. I felt the genuine love that the ladies have for her.

After that we travelled to Illovo for the shoot. Tema had her make-up done for the different looks. Melisa Raier was the awesome photographer who took the gorgeous shots. There were 3 looks: girl next door(dressed by Sokhana Designs), sophisticated business woman and rock chick look (Tema and Taryn's own clothes). Her friend Taryn also helped in styling the looks.

I hope you've enjoyed the behind the scenes pictures I took. I loved every minute of it and eternally grateful, for being given this opportunity.
